Cloud Computing Service Models

There are the following three types of cloud service models -

• Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• Platform as a Service (PaaS).
• Software as a Service (SaaS).

IaaS

1) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

• Hardware as a Service is another name for IaaS. (HaaS). 
• It's a computer network that's managed over the internet. 
• The fundamental benefit of implementing IaaS is that it saves consumers money and time by allowing them to avoid the cost and complexity of buying physical servers.

Characteristics of IaaS

The following are the properties of IaaS:

1. Resources are available as a service.
2. Services are highly scalable.
3. Dynamic and flexible.
4. GUI and API-based access.
5. Automated administrative tasks.

2) Platform as a Service (PaaS)

The PaaS cloud computing platform is designed to help programmers create, test, execute and manage applications.

Characteristics of PaaS Server.

1. Various people can access the same development application.
2. Integrates with databases and web services.
3. Based on virtualization technology, resources can be readily scaled up or down to meet the needs of the enterprise.
4. Multiple languages and frameworks are supported.
5. The ability to "Auto-scale" is included.

3) Software as a Service (SaaS)

"On-demand software" is another term for SaaS. It's a type of software where the applications are hosted by a third-party cloud service provider. Users can use a web browser and an internet connection to access these applications.

The following services are offered by SaaS.

1. Business Services.
2. Document Management.
3. Social Networks.
4. Mail Services.
