  • In IOT Internet connection is required for communication but in M2M devices are not dependent on the Internet.

In M2M, there is a limited amount of intelligence used.

IoT has used internet protocols like FTP, Telnet, and HTTP.

Communication technology and Traditional protocols are uses in M2M technology.

Connection Used

Different types of  connection are used.

Only point to point connection is used.

Range/Area of uses

It has a wide range of devices, yet the scope is large.

It has a limited Scope for devices.

Business Type Used

It use Business to Consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B).

It has Business to Business (B2B) communication only.

Data sharing depends on the Internet protocol network.

Devices may be connected through mobile or any other network.

  5. Interfacing Temperature Sensor (LM35) and/or humidity sensor (e.g. DHT11).
  6. Interfacing Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) – display data generated by sensor on LCD.
  7. Interfacing Air Quality Sensor-pollution (e.g. MQ135) - display data on LCD, switch on LED when data sensed is higher than specified value.
  8. Interfacing Bluetooth module (e.g. HC05)- receiving data from mobile phone on Arduino and display on LCD.
  9. Interfacing Relay module to demonstrate Bluetooth based home automation application. (using Bluetooth and relay).
